Parks of the Comox Peninsula

Our current exhibit explores the established parks and protected areas of the Comox Peninsula, such as MacDonald Park (pictured right). The aim of the exhibit is to increase awareness to their locations, gather information regarding their history, and celebrate the importance of green spaces in our community.

As well as creating attractive places for recreation and quiet contemplation, parks also serve as pleasant venues for community and cultural events, buffer sound and air pollution from urban areas and provide opportunities for outdoor education. Join us in a celebration of our community's parks, and discover their historical, environmental and social significance to the vitality of the Comox Peninsula.

“Parks of the Comox Peninsula” will run from July 2007 to January 2008

Brooks, Laing & Filberg

This summer, the Comox Archives & Museum will be joining the Filberg Festival to bring you an art exhibition steeped in history.  The beachside properties of Comox Logging Company owner, Robert Filberg, ornithologist Allan Brooks, and naturalist Hamilton ‘Mack’ Laing follow the same shoreline, yet these personalities were as varied as they were vibrant.  The paintings of Mack Laing and Allan Brooks will be exhibited in the beautiful Filberg Lodge during the 2008 Filberg Festival; we hope you’ll join us!

‘Brooks, Laing & Filberg’ will run from August 1st, 2008 to August 4th, 2008 in the Filberg main lodge, located in the Filberg Park.
