Comox Aerial 1929

This is likely the first aerial photograph taken of Comox in the year 1929.  The photograph is by courtesy of the Comox Golf Club.  Most of the downtown Comox area was surrounded by farms and cleared land.  You can see Port Augusta street and Balmoral Avenue and well as Comox Avenue.  Church Street is just a pathway to the Anglican Church and the as yet to be completed golf course.  You can see Golf Creek which runs down to the water from the turn on Port Augusta where John’s Independent Grocery is now located.  The creek has been covered over by the mall parking lot.
